After turning in one of his best East Coast performances, Boys Turn will try his luck in the featured pace on Saturday (Nov. 5) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Capital oval has a 10-dash card getting underway at 12:30 p.m. with the $3,150 Preferred 2 pace lining up in the ninth race.

David Dowling drives Boys Turn from his own Springvale stable from post three for the ownership group of Clair Murphy and Joel and Jeremy Watts. The six-year-old son of Shadow Play was ultra-impressive in his latest race winning in 1:53.4 off the front end for his fourth win of the season. Spicey P has a string of top-three finishes on the line from post 4 for trainer-driver Jason Hughes as the son of Up The Credit – Sydney Seelster has been sharp since coming East.

Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie) has rail control with Moonwriter (Marc Campbell) sure to be aggressive from post two. Blue Monk holds down post five with Myles Heffernan Sr., getting the catch driving call.

Boys Turn is the prime feature selection in the Post Time Picks.

“We had Boys Turn on top last week and he raced great bossing it all the way and scoring in a sizzling 1:53.4. Bumps up the class ladder and will be on the front foot so don’t be shocked if he doubles up.”

Campbell continues to run away with the top driver and top trainer title at the capital oval with 17 race programs left in 2022. Campbell has 113 driving wins at Red Shores Charlottetown this year leading second-place David Dowling at 92 winners.

On the training side, Campbell has sent 56 horses to the winner’s circle from his Orwell barn with Melissa Rennie in second with 39 wins.

The race for leading owner is a runaway with Jennifer Doyle and Danny Birt of Earnscliffe recording 32 wins from 158 starts. Debbie Element of Village Green, wife of trainer Colin Johnson, is second with 19 wins as an owner.
