This past summer, news outlets in Florida reported that politicians considered issuing Miami International Airport a quarter-horse racing permit in order to allow the facility to host gaming at the location
.
A report by miamitodaynews.com states that the idea is now considered a longshot at best.
"It's a longshot for all the pieces to fall into place that would need to fall into place," assistant county attorney Jess McCarty was quoted as saying in the article.
When asked by a commissioner whether he would bet on the proposal becoming reality, McCarty said, "I would not."
