Gias Surreal followed the pocket trip on the rail to the half, maintained position along the pylons and waited to the stretch to make her move as she won the $11,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace at Flamboro Downs on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Major League N (Ed Hensley) was the first to accelerate to the top and designate herself as the pacesetter for the feature mile while Gias Surreal and driver Tyler Moore left from post eight to take up the second spot along the pylons. After panels in :27.2 and :56.2, the top three remained unchanged. In The Mood (J Harris) pulled from third before the three-quarters in 1:25.2 while Gias Surreal and Major League N maintained their positions. Down the lane, Gias Surreal and Major League N found themselves alone in a match race for the victory. In a photo finish, Gias Surreal prevailed by a nose over Major League N in 1:56.1. In The Mood completed the triactor.

Trained by Donald Lindsey, Gias Surreal is a seven-year-old So Surreal mare owned by James Graham, Edward Peron and Lee Winters. She earned her third win of the year from 31 starts and her 34th career tally, summing a $961,655 lifetime bankroll. She paid $4.30 to win.

Trainer Jared Mann sent out three victors on the Thursday evening card, including Del Diggity ($4), driven by Harris to a 1:59.2 triumph by 1-1/2 lengths; Northern Belle ($9.10), steered by Jason Ryan to a 2-1/4-length victory in 2:00.1; and Ranger Bob ($3.60), piloted by Harris to an 8-1/2-length romp in 1:59.3.
