Idling in last, Victory Is Coming launched an impressive backside brush in the slop that carried her to victory in Tuesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap, her second straight win in The Meadows’ top distaff trot

Things looked bleak for Victory Is Coming when she trailed the redoubtable Toms OK Lady by 6-1/2 lengths at the half. But under Mike Wilder’s urging, the three-year-old daughter of Victory Sam-Norse Comer powered up wide before the final turn and overtook Toms OK Lady in the stretch. She scored in 1:57.1 over the rallying Rose Run Keepsake, while Toms OK Lady saved show.

Marty Wollam trains Victory Is Coming, who pushed her career bankroll beyond $200,000 with her 21st win in 31 lifetime starts, for Betty and John Shaw.

Tony Hall drove four winners on the 15-race card.
