Guy Gagnon sent out a trio of victors at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday, Nov. 3 with I Ama Rocket victorious in the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Pace.
Marie-Claude Auger piloted the Gagnon student from post four in the feature. The pair got away last and continued from the back of the pack through fractions in :26.3, :56.2 and 1:24.4. Pulling to the outside at the three-quarters, I Ama Rocket had to shoot home like a rocket, joining in on a blanket finish at the wire. I Ama Rocket prevailed by a head over stablemate Flash Cube (Guy Gagnon), who finished a head in front of Early Action (Ryan Guy) for second.
I Ama Rocket is an eight-year-old gelded son of Custard The Dragon-Machs Rocket owned by Louise Ricard. This season, he has posted a record of 6-1-8 with $57,580 banked in 31 starts. In his 180 start career, I Ama Rocket has earned $413,021 with a record of 41-24-31. He paid $10 to win at 4-1 odds.
Gagnon also won with D A Temptation ($21.50) and Make It Come True ($7.20), both driven to victory by himself.
