The top pacing mares on the Eastern Seaboard are again set to do battle on Saturday, Nov. 4 afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Red Shores Charlottetown will host 11-races on Saturday starting at 12:30 p.m.
Race 10 is the $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace with Chelski as the top choice from post two for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Jennifer Doyle. Jeffrey and Robert Skinner of Nova Scotia share ownership of the six-year-old daughter of Rollwithitharry as the mare looks for her 16th lifetime win.
Tobin Brownie was a second-place finisher in this class last week for trainer-driver David Dowling and has rail control this week as she builds on her $172,608 in lifetime earnings. Track record holder Dreamfair Zenfire (To be driven by Marc Campbell) has post three with multiple Fillies and Mares Preferred winner Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) leaving from post four and Atlantic Star (Mike McGuigan) rounding out the field.
The Post Time Picks are going with Tobins Brownie to win.
“Tobins Brownie has been on top of her game lately. She’s coming off a sharp second-place finish against the same rivals and gets the pole position. I think she goes wire to wire this week.”
Moonwriter (Adam Merner) is the morning line favourite in the race one opener from the David O’Brien stable for owner Debbie Element. The 11-year-old son of Sportswriter is a 43-time winner in his career including his last start in line to Merner in 1:56.2. His chief rivals in the $2,400 dash are slated as Poplar Artie (Campbell) from post four for trainer Lenny Myers and Spack Jarrow (MacPherson) with post six on the Metro Home Building Centre starting gate for trainer Raymond White.
