Ron Burke trainee Larry Karr captured his third consecutive win when he cruised to a 1:49.4 score in the featured $18,000 top-level conditioned pace on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 3) at Harrah's Philadelphia.
Dexter Dunn sent the four-year-old A Rocknroll Dance gelding clear of Rockapelo through a :26.2 first quarter and continued to speed through the mile. After reeling a :54.4 half, Larry Karr used a :26.4 third sectional to extend his lead over Rockapelo to four lengths into the final turn and continued to edge away in the stretch.
Larry Karr claimed his 17th victory, widening his lead four-and-a-half lengths over Hayden Hanover, who emerged late to take runner-up honours over Rockapelo.
The human Larry Karr shares ownership in the equine athlete of the same name with the Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi and Frank Baldachino. He paid $5.60 to win.
Racing returns to Harrah's Philadelphia on Wednesday, Nov. 6. First post is 12:25 p.m. (EST).
