Preferred Win Part Of Wilder's Big Night

Although the Lightning Lane charge of TSM Photo Bugger fell a neck short in Friday’s $22,500 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows, he was awarded the victory when the apparent winner, Sir Caviar, broke at the wire.

While Sir Caviar was advancing steadily first over before his miscue, TSM Photo Bugger and Mike Wilder saved ground and shot through inside, taking advantage of the opportunity to score in 1:55. Bettis and Fox Valley Smarty were promoted to second and third, respectively, while Sir Caviar was placed fourth.

The win was one of five for Wilder on the 15-race card.

Jan Fread trains TSM Photo Bugger, a five-year-old SJs Photo-Rewarding Wink gelding who won his second straight and pushed his career bankroll to $198,598, for owner/breeder Ted Tomson.
