Plainridge Park held its last card of live harness racing of the season on Friday, Nov. 28, and Meadowlands invader Ladysassin took the final feature with an easy win in a $21,127 juvenile conditioned event.
Brett Beckwith got away third early with Ladysassin but had her out and rolling past the eighth pole and crossed her over to the lead in front of the stands, past the quarter in :28.2. Ladysassin then got to the half in :56.4 and three-quarters in 1:25.4 before taking her two-length lead into the final turn. Ladysassin maintained her advantage to the top of the lane and then cruised home under wraps to win in 1:56. Captain Rocknroll (Mitchell Cushing) closed to be within 1-1/2 lengths in second. One Eyed Delilah (Jay Randall) was third.
Ladysassin ($2.40), trained by Mike Eaton, took her first win since her debut in July and has now earned $63,615 in 11 starts. The rookie daughter of Perfect Sting-Dream Chaser is owned by Michael E. Eaton Jr. and Robert Griffin.
Nick Graffam had a driving double during the afternoon while nine different trainers each won one race.
Plainridge Park held a trackside presentation for the leading horsepeople of the 2025 meet. Gretchen Athearn was the leading trainer with 53 wins, followed by Jimmy Nickerson (49) and Domenico Cecere (46). The leading driver was Bruce Ranger, who had 147 wins to Brett Beckwith's 143 and Nick Graffam's 130.
