Driver David Dowling and trainer Jennifer Doyle have been a near-unstoppable team in 2024, and they will look for more success in the top class on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 12-dash presentation starting at 12:30 p.m., with the $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred hitting the track in Race 11.
The Doyle-trained Shake N Blake provided a mild upset at 4-1 odds in last week’s Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace and will be saddled with post six this week for driver Dowling and owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. The four-year-old daughter of Hes Watching and St Lads Peeper has been hitting the top three every week with 11 victories in 2024.
Sugar Bowl has post four in the Fillies and Mares Preferred field after falling short as the post-time favourite last week. Gilles Barrieau will drive for trainer Jeff Holmes.
Rail control goes to Redlandbethanyjean (Brodie MacPhee) after making her last start on Oct. 26 in the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares final for trainer Tom Weatherbie.
Rosetown Mary (Corey MacPherson) leaves from post two, while Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) is the post three starter from the Ashley Gamester barn. Tobins Brownie (Marc Campbell) has post five in her first pari-mutuel start since Sept. 19 for new trainer Earl Watts.
The Post Time Picks go with Shake N Blake.
“Shake N Blake scooted up the passing lane to finish second by a neck two starts back and won from off-the-pace in her latest. She looks like she has their number, so I'm putting her on top.”
The $3,200 top trot lines up in race seven with Fight Song (Hughes), the 5-2 morning line favourite over post three starter Curadh (Ryan Desroche) and New Legacy (Dowling) with post six.
