There is a reason The Rev is the richest Atlantic-bred pacer of all-time and he showed it Sunday afternoon (Nov. 28) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Ken Murphy picked up the catch-drive behind the talented son of Western Paradise in the $3,400 Preferred Pace for trainer Gilles Barrieau and owners Jeff and Robert Skinner of Nova Scotia. The Rev was last at the top of the stretch in the afternoon feature and made short work of his foes while passing the field and winning at 6-1 odds in 1:56.1 over Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) and Mc Pat (Adam Merner).

David Dowling was the most photogenic of the day with three wins on the afternoon. Boys Turn scored a victory in his P.E.I. debut winning in 1:57.3 for trainer/driver Dowling and new owners Joel and Jeremy Watts of Springvale, P.E.I., along with Brittany Watts. Dowling also won with Pineapple Express (2:00.2) for trainer Billy MacKay Jr., and Mantario (1:58.1) from the Jen Doyle barn.

Doyle had two winners on the day as she also won with My Land (1:57), with Jason Hughes in the race bike, as the Badlands Hanover pacer remains undefeated on the East Coast.

Usurper had the fastest win of the day in the $2,200 afternoon finale, winning by more than nine lengths in 1:55.4 for the combination of teamster Mark Bradley and conditioner Earl Smith.

Total wager was $48,498.

Live racing continues Saturday and Sunday afternoon (Dec. 4 and 5) at 12:30 p.m. at Red Shores Charlottetown.
