Hes Got Swagger ($2.30) strutted his stuff in his return to Flamboro Downs on Wednesday (Nov. 28), and extended his undefeated record at the half-mile oval to six wins in as many starts with a 1:56.1 score in the evening's $8,400 featured conditioned pace.
Owner-driver Travis Cullen sent the three-year-old Vintage Master gelding right to the front, and the pair controlled splits of :27.2, :58 and 1:26.3 while Ferrarifever (Bruce Richardson) drafted comfortably in the pocket. At the finish, Hes Got Swagger kept his pocket rival at bay by a length while Machlicious (Jonathan Drury) finished third after levelling off in the breeze on the final turn.
Jodie Cullen trains Hes Got Swagger, who reeled off five straight wins at the Dundas, Ont. track for his new connections in September and October before only mustering a third-place finish in the Ontario Harvest Series at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The Cullens also teamed up with Big Jim juvenile Jay Eye Em ($3.90), who drew off willingly to beat St Lads Thriller by 4-1/4 lengths in 1:59 in a $7,400 conditioned pace.
