Hockey League Invades Hippodrome 3R

Hippodrome 3R transformed into a hockey arena for Coupe de la 55

Hippodrome 3R has been reconfigured into an outdoor hockey arena as the Trois-Rivières, Que. racetrack will host the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Winter Classic from Nov. 28 to Dec. 7.

With the harness racing season complete for 2025, the site of the Quebec Jockey Club track will host 25 hockey games of various levels, including men's ages 13-18, women's hockey, collegiate, university and junior major, over the 10 days. 

The main event is Coupe de la 55 featuring four QMJHL teams, the Shawinigan Cataractes, Sherbrooke Phoenix, Victoriaville Tigres and Drummondville Voltigeurs, with a tournament champion crowned at the closing ceremony. 

The schedule of events includes a Montreal Canadiens alumni vs. QMJHL alumni game. 

The 10-day Winter Classic also includes concerts by Kaïn, Laurence St-Martin, Phil Lauzon, Eric Masson, Mike Demero and David Pineau.
