Driver Brandon Campbell punched out of a dynamite day at the office Sunday afternoon (Nov. 27) at Fraser Downs, nabbing five of the afternoon’s nine races.
Campbell’s highlight came with a 1:52.2 victory in the $10,000 Open Pace behind Connie Kolthammer trainee Outlaw C My Shadow. The five-year-old Shadow Play gelding led the featured field every step through splits of :27, :57 and 1:25 to then speed home past the beam 2-1/2 lengths better than pocket-sitter Armycaptin Hanover. Waitin Ona River rallied for third and Vertical Squirt closed from last for fourth.
Outlaw West Stable owns Outlaw C My Shadow, a now 12-time winner from 82 goes and an earner of $135,322. He paid $2.80 to win.
Shake Shadow N Rol (1:56.1 winning mile, $2.30 to win) gave Campbell his first win on the day, and Campbell quickly followed with a victory from Ponggo (1:57, $3.60). He won with Trust In Me (1:58.3, $3.60) before taking the top pace on the day and then wrapped his five bag with a coast-to-coast mile from I Ama Rocket (1:54.2, $4.40).
