Massachusetts-bred Wings Of Royalty showed his class once again, as he recorded a coast-to-coast win in the $16,000 Winners-Over trotting feature at Plainridge Park on Monday (Nov. 26).
Leaving from Post 8, Wings Of Royalty (who was driven by Shawn Gray) grabbed a quick lead and had things his own way from there. After having set the fractions in :27.3, :58 and 1:26.3, Gray let his charge out a bit heading for home, and Wings Of Royalty extended his advantage to three lengths at the wire where he won in 1:55.3.
The victory was the ninth win of the year for Wings Of Royalty ($3.00), who now has earned $95,705 this year for owner/breeder Ray Campbell Jr. John Di Stefano does the training.
The six-year-old son of RC Royalty has now scored 29 wins from 88 lifetime starts, has hit the board 53 times, and has $771,154 banked as a result of his efforts.
Mitchell Cushing, Jimmy Whittemore and Wally Watson all scored driving doubles during the 10-race Monday card.
Racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Tuesday (Nov. 27) at 1 p.m.
There are only two racing days left in the 2018 meet, which will conclude on Thursday (Nov. 29) at 1 p.m.
