Yankee Sun and Island Jazzystar are favoured to win their respective dashes during racing events this Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park and Sunday at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway

Yankee Sun, owned by the BM Stable of Grand-Digue, NB, got back to his winning form last week at the CDP when driver Kenny Arsenault sent the eight-year-old gelding to the front from Post 4 and went on to win by two lengths in 1:59.

The top class also includes BJ Cruiser, who has hit the board in five of his last six, Porthill Alf, who makes his 34th start of the season, stakes performer Stars Xample, Olivia Hall, who is more than capable of handling the boys at this level, and Lakota Hall who is making his second start after qualifying on November 14.

Island Jazzystar, owned by Mitchell Tierney of Cornwall, PEI is going for his fourth win in a row and he could get it on the final race program of the 2009 season Sunday at Summerside Raceway.

Corey MacPherson, a product of the matinee race program, has been assigned the driving duties from Post 8 against a talented lineup of horses. MacPherson is having a break-out season compiling 174 drives recording 26 victories.

Best of Life, trained by Chris MacKay, will try to keep the pressure on from Post 3, while trainer Wendell Shaw will send Louie Fernandez, who is listed at 7-2 morning line. The $1,800 class has Feel Ideal, Rakland Fine Line, Chester the Name, Life Savior and Paphos.

Magali Joy is favoured to win the first race to lead off the Play4 players, while Athenas Pride could give the Super Pack players a boost in the fifth race. Come Back Quick is the morning line favourite to start up the Pick 6 Jackpot for $1,000 in Race 6.
