The official draw has been completed and Canadian representative Austin Sorrie will drive Great D’Arry in the Prix des Rencontres Internationales in his upcoming appearance at the world-renowned Hippodrome de Vincennes in Paris, France, an event that brings together top drivers from 14 different countries.

Sorrie enters the race as Canada’s leading driver in wins for 2025, with an impressive 369 victories to date. He will drive Great D’Arry for trainer Didier Brohier in race seven, leaving from post position 14.

A nine-year-old son of French sire Niki from the Gabor Star mare Reine D'Arry, Great D'Arry has one win in nine starts this year, but that win came in his most recent outing — a dominant score in a 2,850 metre race at Vincennes on Sept. 23.

Friday's race is a 2,100-metre race for horses ages six through nine, non-winners of 200,000 EUR lifetime and entered with a 18,000 EUR claiming price tag.

Post time for race seven is scheduled for 9:46 p.m. (CEST) / 3:46 p.m. (EST). Fans can watch the race live at letrot.com by clicking here. To view the race entries, click here.

Standardbred Canada extends its best wishes to Austin Sorrie as he proudly wears Canada’s red and white colours for the first time on the international stage.

Canada has a proud history in this prestigious event. In 2012, Billy Davis Jr. captured the title, earning a memorable victory for Canadian harness racing. Other notable Canadian participants include Scott Zeron (runner-up in 2010), Randy Waples (2011) and Doug McNair (2024), each helping to showcase Canadian talent on the world stage.

Standardbred Canada is excited to see Austin Sorrie continue this tradition and represent the nation with pride in Paris.
