The first Friday card of the Fall Meet at the Meadowlands Racetrack shapes up as a horseplayer’s delight.
A bounty of entries for the overnight classes resulted in a 13-race card with all but two of the races filling to the 10-horse maximum.
The Friday night feature is Race 11, the highest class overnight trot of the week in which seven square-gaiters will face off in a pari-mutuel puzzler. Up Front Billy has the look of a top contender in the race for trainer Mark Ford, who owns the son of Andover Hall with Up Front Racing. Tim Tetrick has the drive.
The guaranteed pools for Friday are the $25,000G Pick 5 that kicks off the card, the early Pick 4 (Races 3 through 6 at $30,000, guaranteed) and late Pick 4 (Races 7 through 10 at $50,000, guaranteed) along with plenty of Pick 3s and dime superfectas.
On the promotional front, the lead is the 'Black Friday Gift Card Sweepstakes' with $2,500 in giveaway and the Friday fan favourite 'Beat The Boss.'
First-race post time on Friday is 7:15 p.m.
