The four-year-old Rock N Roll Heaven gelding and driver David Miller worked clear of Nine Ways after a :27.1 first quarter, then parried two separate challenges in progress to the 15th win of his career.
After rating a :55.4 half mile, Lyons Steel staved off a first-over push from JK Musicman through three-quarters in 1:23.4, then dug in to defeat the late-rallying Billy Badger N by three-quarter lengths. JK Musicman narrowly held third over Mako Banner N.
