Doug McNair enjoyed a six-win performance during Tuesday’s 12-race program at Western Fair Raceway, and in doing so he became the first reinsman of the season to surpass 200 wins at the half-miler
.
McNair, who leads all teamsters with 204 victories over the London oval, got the ball rolling on Tuesday with Whirlwind (2:00.1), who romped to a 6-3/4 length decision in Race 3. He tacked on wins with Blue Mermaid (2:00.4) in Race 5, Thatll Work (1:59.2) in Race 7, Catch My Korvette (2:03) in Race 8, Spirit Of Canada (2:01.2) in Race 11 and Hummyounow (2:00) in Race 12.
Now nearing the end of his third full season of sulky sitting, McNair has piled up a career-high 472-win season. He a little more than a month of racing remaining on the 2010 calendar, the youngster needs just 34 more victories to join the 1,000-win club.
