A Birthday Six-Pack For Tetrick

The only thing hotter than the 38 candles on Tim Tetrick’s birthday cake on Friday was his continued scorching form in the sulky at Harrah’s Philadelphia, where he guided six more winners, including Shes Allright in 1:52.4 while taking the $17,000 distaff pacing feature.

Tetrick got away second with the sophomore daughter of Sweet Lou, who was a Jugette finalist, then brushed around early leader Sweet Lucy Lou just past the :28.4 opening quarter on a “good track.” Shes Allright kept rolling to a :57.1 half, with Alkippe coming first-over at that point and favoured Lincolns Girl N, trying to stay undefeated in the States, out and second-over.

Lincolns Girl N soon had to go three-wide around stalling cover, and she got nearer to the pacesetter towards the 1:25 three-quarters, continuing her bid around the turn with Sweet Lucy Lou poised in the pocket. But neither for could handle the winner’s :27.4 last stanza over the off going, with Sweet Lucy Lou garnering her fourth straight second, a length behind the winner, and Lincolns Girl N suffering her first Stateside loss after three wins while another three-quarters of a length back despite pacing her back half in :54.2.

Ron Burke trained his winning filly right back top form as she won her third straight and pushed her earnings to $181,329 for Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Michelle Yanek and Phil Collura.

The big story continued to be the sensational driving form of Tetrick over the southeast Pennsylvania 5/8-mile oval. In his last five appearances here, dating back to November 13, Tim has driven 28 winners (and left early on the two Wednesdays to compete late at Dover). Including the 13th, and counting his successes at Dover and The Meadowlands, Tetrick has won 47 races in the last ten days.
