Broodmare Mystical Power was the sale topper at the Midwest Classic Mixed Sale on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Shipshewana, Indiana.
The auction, which took place at the Michiana Event Center, had a catalogue of 147 yearlings, weanlings, racehorses, stallion shares and broodmares.
Mystical Power, Hip 115, was sold as part of the Oak Ridge Farm mare dispersal and purchased in foal to Indiana first-crop sire Temporal Hanover for $48,000 by Cathy Webb of Goshen, Indiana. The 10-year-old Yankee Glide-Tymal Mystique mare, a dam of two foals not yet of racing age, earned more than $100,000 and a dozen wins from 80 starts in her own racing career and took a mark of 1:55.3f at Miami Valley Raceway.
With final bids of $30,000 each, six-year-old pacing mare Somebeachsomefra (Somebeachsomewhere-Ms Caila J Fra), purchased by Ryan Miller of Shipshewana, Indiana, and three-year-old trotting filly Stella Rose (Dover Dan-Rose Run Rae), purchased by the Monroe, Indiana based Eleven Star Stables, rounded out the top sellers.
