Despite drawing post eight in the field of eight, Logan Park powered home to add another $40,000 Open Trot to his padded resume on Sunday (Nov. 2) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Gaines Hanover and Louis-Philippe Roy took command of the field early from post five, controlling the tempo with marks in :26.4, :54.4 and 1:22.4. Logan Park (Doug McNair) got away fifth from the outside post and maintained his position through the quarter and half. En route to the third quarter pole, Logan Park made his move, pulling to the outside. Logan Park and McNair advanced on the outside all the way to a 2-1/2 length score in 1:50.4. Gaines Hanover finished second and Amigo Volo (Tyler Borth) was third.
Owned by Outofthepark Stable, Reg Higgs, and Arpad Szabo, the seven-year-old Archangel - Rite Outa The Park gelding has banked $201,720 of his career $2.2 million sum this year to date with six wins in 15 seasonal starts. In 99 career starts, Logan Park has produced a record of 43-12-7. He paid $3.30 to win.
