The last six weeks in the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at Rideau Carleton Raceway have been prosperous for Hp Lis Shadow and the featured pace on Sunday (Nov. 2) evening was no different as the six-year-old Shadow Play - Lisbella tallied another win.
Bets Show Off (Pascal Berube) was the first to the point from the rail, but Hp Lis Shadow (Robert Shepherd) hit the timer first at the quarter in :26.4. After that mark, Hp Lis Shadow continued on command to control the timer at the half in :56 and three-quarters in 1:23.3. Stepping away from his foes, Hp Lis Shadow opened up to win by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:51.4. The Light Speed (Guy Gagnon) finished second and Bets Show Off grabbed the show spot.
Hp Lis Shadow won his eighth race of the year in 28 starts and his 26th race from 120 lifetime starts. He now has $284,077 in the bank. Jacob Copley trains the gelding for Imagine Stable. He paid $2.70 to win.
In addition to the victory in the feature, Shepherd garnered four other wins with Margosgotthecargo ($3.90), Tuf Cooper ($20.50), P L Rinchenia ($9.10), and Mcwicked Time ($3.30).
