Tall Cotton zipped to the front from post seven, worked out comfortable fractions and had just enough late to capture Wednesday’s $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Dave Palone gave Tall Cotton an opening half in 28/57.2. Even with that second-quarter breather, the 10-year-old Revenue S-B Cor Peatra gelding was all out to withstand the Lightning Lane brush of Chef Lee, downing him by half a length in 1:54. The first-over See The Wind raced well for show.
Ron Burke trains Tall Cotton, a career winner of over $800,000, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Edwin Gold and Howard Taylor.
Tony Hall collected four wins on the 14-race card.
