Hp Sissy Defeats Preferred Mares

Quebec stakes champion filly Hp Sissy delivered as the 7-5 favourite in the $7,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday night (November 2).

The three-year-old youngster reclaimed the lead from early leaver Bestulldotanite (Paul MacKenzie) and posted fractions of :27.4, :57.1 and 1:26.1 en route to a 1:55.1 victory over the sloppy track for driver Bob McClure. She paid $4.90 to win. Aintsheasweetie (Travis Henry) finished two and half lengths behind in second-place and Bundoran (J Harris) rounded out the top three finishers.

Trained by Ben Baillargeon, Hp Sissy has won six of her 20 sophomore starts, including the $65,000 final of the Coupe des Eleveurs in early September at Hippodrome 3R. She also won Flamboro's Preferred 3 class on September 20 in front-end fashion.

Claude Hamel of Ayer's Cliff, Que. bred the Up The Credit-Monica Blue Chip filly, who has earned over $100,000 lifetime, and shares ownership with Michel Damphousse of Louiseville, Que.
