Order By Commander launched his attack late and closed off cover to capture the $7,500 Preferred 3 Trot on Sunday night at Flamboro Downs.

Driver Robert Shepherd settled the five-year-old gelding away mid-pack while Waikiki Hanover took the lead and carved out panels of :27.3, :57.1 and 1:26.4. Kennel Buddy applied heavy first over pressure at the third quarter mark with Order By Commander looming second over. Shepherd then sent Order By Commander three-wide into the mix turning for home and drew off down the lane to win by nearly four lengths in 1:57.4. Kennel Buddy stayed for second and Tornado Tim came on for third. Favourite A Little More Love recovered from an early miscue and finished fourth.

Craig Yates trains the winning son of Muscles Yankee for owners Frank Lamacchia and Guy Polillo of Brantford, Ont. and Wayne Deserres of Burlington, Ont.

Order By Commander, who was a winner at Woodbine Racetrack two starts ago, paid $8.30 as the 3-1 third choice in the wagering. He now has eight wins, five seconds and six thirds in 31 seasonal starts for over $50,000 in earnings.

Trainer Isaac Waxman wrapped up a perfect weekend of racing with a pair of victories on the 11-race card. The Dundas, Ont. conditioner sent out six starters that scored wins between the Woodbine Racetrack and Flamboro programs from Friday through Sunday. J.R. Plante, a four-time winner on the day, drove Sweet Colt Of Mine and Beach Hero for Waxman on Sunday evening.
