Last for most of the race, Coffee Addict was widest and fastest in the lane as she scored a narrow victory in Monday’s $18,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Coffee Addict still trailed by four lengths at the top of the stretch when the five-year-old daughter of Dragon Again-Kahlua Queen roared into high gear for Wilbur Yoder, nailing early leader Stucklikeglue by a nose in 1:53. The first-over Jaded Dream was a close-up third.
Norm Parker trains Coffee Addict, who soared over $400,000 in career earnings, for James C. Clarke, Sr. and Andrew Altobelli.
Dave Palone piloted four winners on the 15-race card while Mike Wilder and Yoder each enjoyed a triple.
