The Louis McIsaac Memorial highlighted Saturday’s matinee program at the Charlottetown Driving Park, and the $5,900 tilt turned out to be a nail biter.

Rash B Havior rallied in the late stages of the mile and prevailed by a half-length margin over Modern Girl in a time of 1:59.1 for driver Walter Cheverie. The colt got away fifth before working out a second-over trip behind Evalina. The three-year-old son of Lis Mara-Pan Tropez lost his cover in the backstretch, but he continued to advance on race leader Charlottes Ace. That foe led the group through panels of :29.1, :57.4 and 1:27.4 before weakening. Rash B Havior’s :31-second closing quarter was enough to earn him the win over the late-closing Modern Girl, with Charlottes Ace settling for third prize.

Michael Peters of Emyvale, PEI owns and trains the sophomore who won for the second time this season from 20 trips to the track. The pacer has banked just shy of $6,000.

Narragansett was treated to a second-over trip in the $2,400 Preferred Pace, and he didn’t let the trip go to waste. The four-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover-Desifinadia drew clear to win by 2-1/2 lengths for trainer/driver Jason Hughes over Machinthesand in a time of 1:55. Race favourite Big League rounded out the Triactor ticket in the six-horse affair.

Foxyhall Racing of Wallace, Nova Scotia owns the gelding who now boasts a 4-6-4 record from 21 starts this season. The 11-time winner boasts earnings in excess of $30,000.
