Rendell Furious At Delay

According to a report by Harness Tracks of America, Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell lashed out at his legislature over the weekend, accusing them of taking “a very cavalier attitude” toward compromise on the issue of table games at the state’s casinos and racinos

.

The house is not in session until November 9, the senate November 16, and Rendell told legislators he wants round-the-clock negotiations and a compromise decision when the house returns.

The report goes on to state that playing pure politics while state colleges and universities burn, the republican senate majority leader, blaming democrats, called the continued delay, “inexcusable and mystifying.”

The house speaker, democrat Keith McCall, claimed staffers are “hard at work” on the issue, saying “getting the games right is more important than getting them quickly.”
