They did just that when he got some class relief to work with Thursday evening at the Campbellville oval. Trevor Henry rolled the 10-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover-Buckle Bunni to the front and after parking past the opening quarter in :27 he muscled to the front and carved out middle splits of :55.3 and 1:24. A :28.3 closing panel was enough to earn the gelding the win by 2-3/4 lengths over Dreamy Fella in 1:52.3. D Gs De Vito was third.

Sent off as the 4-5 favourite for trainer Julie Robinson, Nickle Bag improved his 2020 record to 6-3-1 from 32 starts with the win. The 53-time winner added to his $1.2 million bankroll.
