On a very nice November night, Montrell Teague drove first leg winner Keepmywiglegametyt (Mr Wiggles-Airtight) gate-to-wire in 1:56 over runner-up Jet Bags Jim in an early non-wagering Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Stakes elimination on Monday at Dover Downs.
In race one on the betting card, Montrell Teague repeated and steered Dashiki (Barber Pole-Enniskerry), who was nosed out in the opening round, to a neck win over last week’s winner Chillaxin Away in 1:53.3, which equaled his lifetime record.
Both winners are trained by Clyde Francis and owned by George Teague Jr. Inc., with Teague Racing Partnership LLC also co-owner on Dashiki.
The final will be contested on Thursday, Nov. 29th in conjunction with the Dover signature event, the Hap Hansen Progress Pace, named for the late Brandywine Raceway President. The top eight point-earners advance to the final.
