Two separate fires at horse barns have hit the news this week, one of which proved to be fatal. One took place in Ancaster, Ont., while the other took place south of the border.
Insidehalton.com has reported that Hamilton firefighters fought a blaze in Ancaster last night (Tuesday, November 18) after receiving a call about barn fire.
The article states that the structure – roughly nine metres by 15 metres – was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived. The fire did not cause any fatalities, but the barn and both a shed and recreational vehicle were destroyed.
Thehorse.com has reported that four horses and a cow lost their lives during a barn fire in Georgia during the morning hours of Monday, November 17.
The article states that an investigation into the cause of the Georgia blaze is still ongoing. The reports states that barn was fully engulfed by the time fire crews arrived.
