Dean Bustard Passes

Dean Bustard, former regular trainer/driver on the Maine harness racing circuit, passed at the age of 88.

A native of New Brunswick, Canada, Dean spent many summers through the 1980's and early '90s competing at Bangor Raceway and the Maine Fair circuit. Dean was best known for his quiet distinguished demeanor, friendly smile and his topnotch pacer Ricochet Skipper. Bustard also trained horses at Woodstock Raceway, NB and also raced horses in New Brunswick during the '80s and early '90s.

Dean is survived by his spouse, Heike, and his children, grandchildren, a brother, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Dean was predeceased by two sisters, one brother, and a granddaughter.

By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the memorial of the donor's choice.
