Veteran Nabs 20th Win Of 2013

Anvil Raider N was a 1:57.2 winner Monday evening at Northfield Park, and in doing so he celebrated his 20th win of the season.

The feat leaves Anvil Raider N tied with Haroun Hanover as the second winningest horses in North America in 2013. Only Tracys Song (21 wins) has more trips to victory lane.

This year will mark the final racing season for Anvil Raider N. The 14-year-old faces mandatory retirement on December 31 per the rules of the United States Trotting Association.

Anvil Raider N, a son of In The Pocket-Motu Sweet, is owned and trained by Will Johnson of Monroe, Michigan. David Lake was in the sulky for the winning drive.

Anvil Raider N, who is a 92-time winner, has earned $335,912 to date. He earned his speed badge of 1:51 as an eight year-old at Mohawk Racetrack.
