Spartacus Jim and East Meadow shared the spotlight at Flamboro Downs on Sunday evening as both pacers eked out wins in their respective $6,500 Preferred 3 assignments.

Spartacus Jim ($5.60) won the first of the co-featured events, circling a field of six for the quarter-length triumph over Keyed Entry in 1:56.1. Stompin Tom Creek finished over one length behind in third. James MacDonald drove the favoured son of Pro Bono Best to his eighth win of the season for trainer Mike Lamoureux and owners Mary Jessica Lamoureux and Marc and Omer Belisle.

Driven by J.R. Plante, East Meadow ($6.90) also scored from off-the-pace, making up an early 10-1/2 length deficit to edge out the popular pacesetter Web Cam by a head in 1:58.2. Windsun Callum finished nearly two lengths behind in third. The Bettors Delight gelding, who earned his second (consecutive) victory of the season, is trained by Jamie Wilson and owned by Chris Wilson.
