She was last in action October 30 at Western Fair Raceway when she flashed her heels to a field of distaffers in the $167,000 Forest City Pace, but on Saturday, November 20 at Woodbine Racetrack, Dreamfair Eternal will be testing her luck against some speedy male pacers

in the $42,000 Open.

Canada's reigning aged pacing mare of the year has drawn Post 5 in the six-horse affair, which will head to the gate as Race 10 on the 11-dash program. The card will kick off with a 7:30 p.m. first-race post time. The open will roll behind the gate at roughly 10:39 p.m.

Dreamfair Eternal faced a reduced schedule in 2010. She faced the gate on 31 instances in her O'Brien Award-winning 2009 campaign, but has only been a part of 20 contests to this point in 2010.

"She races better when she's racing week-in, week-out, but she's had a nice little rest and we're looking forward to Saturday night," breeder/owner John Lamers told Trot Insider.

"She came out of it (the Forest City Pace) wonderfully. It was really like a jog mile for her."

Even though her workload has been reduced this year -- and especially as of late -- Lamers conveyed to Trot Insider that the career winner of 43 races and $1,668,735 in purses is in great form.

"She trained well this week and is as fresh now as she was in June," Lamers said.

He told Trot Insider that he was hoping Dreamfair Eternal would be able to reach the illustrious $1-million plateau in seasonal earnings this year, but that at this point it doesn't look like it's in the cards.

"She'll be shut down at the end of December or possibly before," he said.

When asked whether he will race Dreamfair Eternal the rest of the season against the males in the Opens if he has to, Lamers said that his crew would be playing it by ear.

"We're going to try it and after that we will make our decision."
