After taking down a 1:53.4 record at Woodbine Racetrack on November 7, Famous Mark marched to Georgian Downs on Tuesday and proved he’s not a one track pony
.
The six-year-old son of Famously romped to a 1:56.3 victory in the Innisfil, ON oval’s main event – the $15,000 Preferred Trot – for the tandem of driver Mario Baillargeon and trainer Ben Baillargeon.
Mario tucked Famous Mark into the three-hole in the early stages of the mile before working to the top and driving away to win by just over a length. Kan Wire was second best and CR Muscle Power rounded out the top three.
It was the 31st lifetime victory for the gelding, who has put together a 9-4-4 record in 31 trips postward this season. Marcel Guy Ouimet holds the papers on the career winner of $254,289.
