Preferreds Highlight Card In London

So Frisky and Reel used different tactics to take home top honours in the Preferred events which highlighted Monday’s 11-race card at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Fresh off a win versus easier company, So Frisky rallied to take home the lion’s share of the loot in the $9,400 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 event.

Travis Henry got away fifth with the Anita Ouellette trainee who watched Significance carve out panels of :28.1, :57.2 and 1:26.4. So Frisky was first over and driving on the way to the three-quarter pole and he tenacity helped her secure the late lead and ultimately the 2:04.2 victory in the event which was held at the distance of 1-1/16 miles. Significance was next best, with Lifelong Dream taking home the show dough.

Sent off as the 8-5 favourite, the four-year-old daughter of Dali-Beauty Delight has racked up a 7-2-2 record from 21 trips to the track this season for owners/breeders Luc Ouellette and Paul Bernard. The 16-time winner has banked more than $110,000 to date.

Reel powered to the lead from Post 7 and simply never looked back en route to a 1:56 triumph in the $8,500 Horses & Geldings Preferred 3 event.

Marc St. Louis, Jr. rolled the gelding to the top and carved out fractions of :28.2, :57.4 and 1:26 before cruising home in :30 to win by 1-1/2 lengths over J J Powerball in 1:56. Bit Of Luck was third.

Sent off at odds of 5-1, the Danielle St. Louis trainee won for the sixth time this year and for the 36th time in his career. The nine-year-old son of Shadow Play- Desir, who is owned by Stewart McQueen, has banked over $245,000 to date.
