At age three, Valley Of Sin trotted to a track record in a Pennsylvania Sires Stake at The Meadows but paid a terrible price — a suspensory injury that cost him his entire four-year-old campaign and limited him to four starts the following year.

On Wednesday (November 16), the six-year-old Yankee Gide-Anklet Hanover ridgling again graced The Meadows winners’ circle, scene of his greatest triumph and despair, when he stormed from worst to first to capture the $20,000 Preferred Trot.

Valley Of Sin trailed by five lengths at the three-quarters, but at the urging of trainer/driver Wilbur Yoder brushed wide through the lane to score in 1:54.2. Early leader Nothinbutanallstar finished second, one and a quarter lengths back, with Tall Cotton third.

John Ducharme owns Valley Of Sin, who pushed his career bankroll to $229,149 while earning his fifth win of the year.

Jim Pantaleano piloted four winners, including a pair for trainer Rich Gillock, on the 14-race card.
