Victory Is Coming, at age three the youngest in the field, showed her elders how it’s done when she slipped through an opening in the stretch and captured Tuesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows

.

Victory Is Coming was fifth by 3-1/2 lengths at the top of the lane and pinned inside, but when Mike Wilder guided her off the cones the Victory Sam-Norse Comer filly threaded her way between horses and scored in 1:57.4 over a sloppy surface. Toms OK Lady raced well from Post 9 to finish 1-1/4 lengths back in second, with Rose Run Keepsake a closing third.

Marty Wollam trains Victory Is Coming, who has won 20 of 30 career starts for a sparkling win percentage of 67, for Betty Shaw and John Red Shaw.

Tony Hall and Dave Palone each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
