The win streak is now eight-in-a-row for Showherthemoney who blazed her way to a World Record clocking of 1:49.2 in Sunday’s $167,250 final of the Matron Stake for three-year-old pacing fillies at Dover Downs

.

The daughter of Cams Card Shark-Stienams Place shaved a fifth of a second off the former mark of 1:49.3, which was established by Southwind Tempo at Pocono Downs in 2007.

Jim Morrill, Jr. was in no hurry in the early stages of the mile with the Tracy Brainard trainee, but that same couldn’t be said for Indulge Me and Special Sweetheart who went toe-to-toe to the quarter pole in a 26-second clip. Special Sweetheart eventually cleared to the top, but she came under immediate attack from Ginger And Fred who brushed to the lead and took the field to the mid-way point in :54.3.

Showherthemoney, who was fourth in the early stages of the mile, was on the move at the half and in a matter of strides she was prompting the leader to the three-quarter pole in 1:22. A :27.2 final frame was more than enough for Showherthemoney to power away by more than three lengths. Ginger And Fred held on for the runner-up award and third prize went to West Of LA.

Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, FL owns Showherthemoney, who now boasts a 12-2-2 record from 21 trips postward in 2009. Her lifetime earnings climbed to $763,931.
