Driver Drew Campbell had a banner day at work Sunday (Nov. 14) at Plainridge Park after he won half the races on the card.
Campbell visited the winner’s enclosure with Cash Crazy Express (1:57.1, $4.60) and Rose Run Slider (1:56.4, $5.00), who are both trained by Mark Harris and owned by Gayle Harris, along with Paradise Skies (1:57, $40.20) and Easy Three (1:54.4, $10.60).
Campbell had a total of six drives on Sunday and besides the four wins. He also finished second one time giving him a UDR of .759 for the day.
Campbell currently sits sixth in the Plainridge driver colony with 60 wins for the meet and purse earnings that now total $873,157. In his career, Campbell has 5,489 wins with $17,516,184 in lifetime earnings.
The one race that Campbell did not win on Sunday was the $12,500 featured race for fillies and mares, where Hilaria turned a front-stepping strategy into a 1-3/4-length, 1:54.4 victory. It was the fifth win of the year for Hilaria and owner-trainer Ralph Andersen. Mike Stevenson drove the $5.20 winner.
Racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Monday (Nov. 15) at 1 p.m. (EST).
