Buttermilk Hanover Circles The Field

The colder temperatures might not fly with everyone, but Buttermilk Hanover clearly doesn’t have a problem with it.

The mare has been ultra-productive in recent weeks for trainer Melissa Lamoureux, and she posted another solid victory in Thursday’s $10,500 Preferred 2 for fillies and mares at Flamboro Downs.

Buttermilk Hanover got away last in the field of seven for driver Robert Shepherd while Tables Big Secret and the parked out Sunday Afternoon battled through early fractions of :27.2 and :56.1. Buttermilk Hanover made a three-wide move in the backstretch, and she quickly came after Tables Big Secret at the three-quarter marker in 1:25.3. Buttermilk Hanover’s :29.3 closing quarter was enough to earn her the win by 1-1/2 lengths over Top Royal in 1:55.2. Tables Big Secret held on for the show dough.

Sent off at odds of 5-2, the six-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover-Bet Me Hanover improved her 2019 record to 6-9-3 from 35 starts for owners 8113564 Canada Ltd and Jeff Boyd. The 22-time winner recently surpassed $300,000 in lifetime earnings.
