It has been reported that the handle this year at Monmouth Park is down from its 2010 Elite Meet, but that it is up almost 50 per cent in comparison to 2009, when the races and purse structure were roughly the same
.
An article by the Asbury Park Press has stated that Monmouth has handled $333,375,086 so far this year, and officials are pleased with the way the numbers stack up against the 2009 figures.
“With last year’s Elite Meet an anomaly, it’s only fair to compare these numbers to the 2009 season. When doing so, Monmouth showed significant gains across the board,” New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority President and CEO Dennis Robinson was quoted as saying.
