Giddy Up Lucky (Jason Bartlett, five winners on the card) closed from third-over Saturday night, winning Yonkers Raceway's featured $36,000 Open Handicap Pace

.

Leaving from post position No. 7, Giddy Up Lucky sat chilly as 3-2 favourite McCedes (Yannick Gingras) moved around King Cat Anvil N (Jordan Stratton) after a brisk :27.3 opening quarter-mile.

McCedes found a :56.2 intermission and 1:25.2 three-quarters, with Southwind Tabor (Greg Grismore) uncovered and Runover Feeling (Brent Holland)--who gapped the gate--second-over. McCedes continued to front the fray into the lane, but he was about done.

Giddy Up Lucky swung wide, and did get the measure of a stubborn Southwind Tabor late. The former beat the later by three-quarters of a length in a "good" 1:54.3, with Runover Feeling, King Cat Anvil N and Dark Sign (Cat Manzi) completing the cashers.

For Giddy Up Lucky, a four-year-old Camluck gelding co-owned by David Rovine and Larry Baron and trained by Josh Green, he returned $8.60 (second choice) for his eighth win in 32 seasonal starts. The exacta paid $104, with the triple returning $642.
