Parked to the quarter in :28.3, Roddys At It Again powered to control and to a 1:56.1 victory in the first of two divisions of the DSBF Two-Year-Old Filly Pace at Dover Downs on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
After taking command, Roddys At It Again, by Roddys Bags Again out of Terro Franco N, never looked back and won by 11 lengths for driver Art Stafford, Jr. and trainer Tim Torbert. It was her first DSBF win for 30 something first-time horse owner Katie Killen of Felton.
Sharon White's homebred Vistamista, by Powerful Mist out of Yankee Vista and co-owned by Legacy Racing of Delaware Inc., took the second division in 1:55.1 by nosing out DSBF champ The Lady Sheriff at the wire. Victor Kirby sat in the bike for trainer Wayne Givens.
Round two of the DSBF will go on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The final will be contested on Thursday, Nov. 29 in conjunction with Dover's signature event: the Hap Hansen Progress Pace, named for the late Brandywine Raceway President.
