The Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund spotlights two-year-old filly pacers on Tuesday, Nov. 14 with two $20,000 first leg preliminaries at Dover Downs.
In the first division, Bay Pond Racing’s Bunker Away, a second-place finisher in the DSBF Consolation at Harrington, scored a wire-to-wire win last week with Corey Callahan in the bike.
George Teague’s homebred Nozy Neighbor, a half-sister to fame Wiggleit Jiggleit, handled by Montrell Teague, raced gamely to finish third after trouble at the starting gate last time.
Brenda Cook’s Studio Session teamed with Jason Thompson raced well in the Harrington prelims.
Gracefullyforgiven has been awesome in all of her DSBF previous events and was an easy winner of the $100,000 final on the half-mile track. Art Stafford, Jr. is again in-the-bike for owner-breeders Jeff and David Clark.
Darrell and Leah Lewis’ Pedal Power won both her previous prelims before finishing third in the final will be driven by Tim Tetrick.
Another Team Teague contender is Ibetyoucanwiggle, who finished second in the Harrington DSBF Final.
After two legs, the top eight DSBF point getters make the $100,000 finals for colt and filly trotters and pacers on Nov. 30, the same day of the $300,000 (est.) Hap Hansen Progress Pace for three-year-olds.
