Scirocco Rob, facing brisk winds and freezing temperatures, left alertly, disregarding the weather conditions to cut the mile and win in 1:55.1.

Lagerfield sat the pocket and had every chance to go by the winner but could not. He settled for second while Home N Dry stayed on the rail and brushed in the stretch to finish third.

With plunging temps headed to way below freezing, four divisions of trotting two-year-olds went to post for the opening prelim of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF).

The event was comprised of three early non-wagering races, with the second division of fillies leading off the Daily Double on the regular wagering card. Each division raced for $20,000.

Led to the half by Rocky Bomber and Jack Parker, Jr., Zulu (CR Commando-CR Penny Lane) swept by up the backside and prevailed in a new lifetime mark of 2:02.1 for breeder, trainer and driver Rod Allen. Riddle Me This finished third.

In division two, Chauffeur (Dusty Winner-Koala Kosmos) led from start to finish to win in 2:02.4. The Harrington final winner now has earnings over $97,000 in eight starts. Bred and owned by Jane Dunavant and trained by Carlo Poliseno, he was driven by Art Stafford, Jr. His stablemate Air Time got up for the place and brief challenger Touch Of White hung on for show.

The filly divisions were led off by Playoff Season (CR Commando-Postseason) breaking her maiden in 2:04 for driver Vic Kirby and trainer Syl King, Jr. She is owned by Steve Mullen and bred by Winbak Farm. Second was Katies Blu Diamond and third was Wolfcat.

Second filly division was won by a 21-1 upset from Emmys Mayflower (Anders Bluestone-Mocha) in a lifetime record of 2:00.2 over previously undefeated Orabelle. Emmys Mayflower is owned by breeder and trainer, Eric Foster and driven by his nephew Russell Foster. Alert finished third.

DSBF two-year-old pacing fillies race in early non-wagering races on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
