Rockin Finish, the heavy 1-2 favourite, delivered on his pari-mutuel promise in the featured $11,500 Preferred 2 for male pacers on Sunday night (November 12) at Flamboro Downs.

After setting fractions of :27.4, :57.3 and 1:26.4 over a 'good' track, the Richard Moreau trainee held off the pocket-pursuing Lets Wait And See to win by a half-length in 1:55.3. Reel followed in third.

An eight-year-old gelded son of Rocknroll Hanover, Rockin Finish has won 42 races lifetime and more than $570,000 in purses. He is owned by Gerrie Tucker of Montreal, Que.

The win was the third in a row for driver Bob McClure, who also won the $8,500 Preferred 3 with Arrived Late ($17.50) for trainer Craig Gilmore and a claiming class aboard the Patrick Shepherd stable newcomer Real Wicked ($3.60) over Moreau trainee Jansen Hanover.

Earlier on the card, Elegant Gift ($12.70) won the $10,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 & 3 Handicap with the slight edge in a three-way photo finish for driver Anthony Haughan, trainer Meg Crone and Hutt Racing Stable. Mach Magic and Katies Beach just missed by a head in the 1:57.3 mile.
